Getting There
If you are already in Dadal soum, you can get to the Chinggis Khaan Obelisk by feet. Because it very small town there no need for public transport. You ask local people for way to get there.
What to Expect
The Chinggis Khaan obelisk is near Gurvan nuur lake, surrounded by forest. If you are lucky you can see swan on the lake.
In front of the statue, a vertical portrait of Genghis Khan is engraved with the noble image of a statesman, in the upper right, the white coat of arms is depicted, and on the left, Genghis Khan’s inscription reads: “If my body dies, let my body die, but do not let my great country die.”. On the back of the monument there is an inscription “Dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the birth of Genghis Khan, the founder of the Mongolian state”.
History
It is a monument erected in 1962 on the 800th anniversary of the birth of Genghis Khan near the Gurvan Nuur resort in Dadal soum, Khentii province. The statue was designed by sculptor L. Makhval and is 12 meters high, 10 meters wide and 4 meters thick. At that time Mongolia was a communist country and it was forbidden to erect a statue of Genghis Khan or mention him. The government ordered the demolition of the monument, but the then mayor of the village said it had been demolished and secretly kept it. Because of the mayor of that time, we can still first monument of Chinggis Khaan.

The Dadal soum is border town which is why it is very small town. But it’s still underdevelopment.
