Getting There
Chowk Yadgar is situated at the crossroads of the important routes and bazaars of the ancient city. Tourists can go there using local transport or taking a taxi or personal car or bike. From Chowk Yadgar to Peshawar city, it takes time to reach about 6.2 km or 22 min to reach in the mid-city of Peshawar
By roads: Peshawar is connected to different provinces and cities of Pakistan by a large network of roads. So travelers can easily reach Peshawar and then to Chowk Yadgar by Bus, Car, Coaches, and Daewoo from different parts of the country. The most direct and recommended route is the M1 Motorway (155 kilometers, two hours). Another is the old Grand Trunk Road route via Attock and Nowshera (167 kilometers, three hours). The most historically interesting is via Tarbela Dam, Swabi, Mardan, and Charsadda (242 kilometers, five or six hours) Tarbela Dam may be off-limits for security reasons check for the latest information. Finally, the most attractive drive is through Fateh Jang, Kohat, and Darra (232 kilometers, five or six hours).
By Train: You can also use the train from other parts of the cities to reach Peshawar by train.

History
It was originally built in remembrance of Colonel E.C Hastings by his friends in 1883, and it is now a memorial to the heroes of the 1965 Pakistan-India War. This location has served as a focal point for Peshawar City’s political and cultural events, as well as a gathering spot for the elderly.
