Baotou serves as the transport hub for reaching Chinggis Khaan’s Mausoleum. The site is located about 45 kilometres to the south and can be reached by infrequent local buses, though taxis or a hired driver are the most reliable options.
History
Chinggis Khan’s burial place is intentionally unknown according to Mongolian traditions. There are various theories and legends about the location of his tomb, but none have been conclusively proven.
