Hadero is significant salty water wetland of Sindh, It is a natural lake in a shallow depression, It is an important brackish wetland, where variation of waterfowl favors to pass the time. It was declared wildlife sanctuary in 1977 for the protection of migratory and resident birds, nearby fishermen had been allowed to seize fish for their livelihood.

Getting There

Hadero Lake is located in between Karachi and Hyderabad Thatta District, Sindh about 85km to the east of Karachi.

This lake is believed to be one of the most favorite lakes of Ornithologist. The Major population of 16864 waterfowls was recorded in 1999 during the mid winters. Area of Hadero Lake is 13.21 km2.

This lake is appeared as a significant wintering place that provides a wide variety of waterfowl. 6 orders and 12 families of 49 species have been recorded in this area during the time period of 1998 to 2001, At this magnificent lake, one is more excited to see Cranes, Swans & Storks and the feeding flocks of Pelicans. In which includes some rare, unique and dangerous species. Also waders and cormorants are commonplace.

Facilities Available

The Sindh Wildlife Department has furnished a facility of residential quarters for sanctuary employees, which incorporates one Sanctuary Assistant, and 6 Game Watchers.
