History

Jalal-Abad mineral springs are known far beyond the country borders and have offered cures to people since the ancient times. The healing power of the Khazret-Ayup-Paygambar mineral spring was known to local inhabitants since the 10th century, from the Mongol invasion time.

In 1877, Russian geologists visited the Jalal-Abad springs, and subsequently, chemists and doctors from Tashkent and Moscow visited them, lived nearby in yurts and in the village of Khazret-Ayup, bathed in pits without medical supervision. In 1885, by order of the tsarist military department, a sanatorium-and-spa station for 25 beds was deployed, an infirmary, baths and barracks were built.

In 1954 to 1963, the Jalal-Abad resort kept its activity, started expanding the number of rooms. In 1960, a new community center and a canteen opened its doors to customer delight. Later, in 1981, the resort acquired a new modern balneary building for 1000 daily visits.
