Getting There
Sulayman Too is located in the city of Osh at the intersection of Kurmanzhan-Datka-Gapar Aitiev streets, and can be easily reached by any city bus, taxi, or by foot.
What to Expect
Osh Museum Sulaiman-Too houses the Museum of Spiritual Culture, the only one in Kyrgyzstan, located on the southern slope of Rushan Mountain. The ground floor of this museum is made up of extended karst caves, while the top floor is made up of a natural cave. The building has 13 rooms with a total area of 1238 m².
In these caves in ancient times lived hermits, there were altars and mazars. Sulaiman Too is a place for worship. Pilgrims believe these places of worship can heal illnesses and bless people with a long life.
History
The museum was established in 1949. During its long history, it has been renamed several times. The museum contains more than 33 thousand exhibits related to the history, archeology, art, nature of the southern region of Kyrgyzstan.
In 2000, on the occasion of 3000th anniversary of Osh celebration, a new building with an area of 1100 square meters was handed over to the museum.
