Getting There
The Tudakul lake operates as one of the most modern destinations for foreign and domestic tourists. This lake is located in a remote area of Navoi region or 85 km from the city of Navoi. The Tudakul lake is accessible only by bus and car.
What to Expect
The lake is rich in fish like carp, catfish, and bream. The flora and fauna of the region include some unique specimen included in the Red Book. Tudakul is home for white-tailed eagle, black-headed gull, swan, pelican, long-tailed eagle, and others.
On the shore of Tudakul there is a recreation area “Lazurny” which is a private facility of Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine. In the recreation area, there are 120 places, swimming pools, a sport complex, 3 restaurants, fishing, a health sauna and an iodine pool. Also “Azure” by its nature, more than 40 species of plants.
History
The Tudakul reservoir in the Navoi region was built 26 km east of the city of Bukhara, in the south-west of the Kuyimazar reservoir, commissioned in 1968. The reser-voir was reconstructed in 1977. The total volume is 800 million m3. The water surface is 17.5 km2 , the average depth is 4.8 m. The dam height is 4 m, and the maximum water throughput is 46.0 m3/s.
Excess water of the Zarafshan river flows through the Urtachul canal, and the Amudarya is filled through the Amu-Bukhara machine channel. Land at the front end of the canal provides additional water. Through the connecting channel, water en-ters the Kuyimozor reservoir. The water of the Tudakul reservoir is partially mineralized; there isd a fish farm in the reservoir.
