What to Expect
The museum works in coordination with other research institutions, and, when necessary, involves research specialists. The museum coordinates archaeological research and excavations with relevant organizations, participates in archaeological excavations on the territory of the Lebap velayat. Research work in the museum is aimed at improving the quality of cultural and educational work.
The museum has 5 exhibition halls, including, on the 1st floor of the building – the Modern Hall, the Archeology Hall and the Ethnography Hall, on the 2nd floor of the building – the Fine Arts Hall and the Nature Hall. In total, the museum has more than 20,800 exhibits. The exhibition area of the museum is 2261 square meters. In total, 4 state museums are under the jurisdiction of the ministry in Lebap velayat.
History
The construction of the building of the Local History Museum of the Lebap velayat was completed in 2010 and the museum was opened to the public on September 2011.
The museum consists of 3 floors. Exhibition halls are located on the 1st and 2nd floors. On the 3rd floor there is a room for staff, a library and a reading room. In the basement of the museum there are treasuries, workshops for repair work, laboratories, equipped premises for security.
The Lebap Velayat Museum of Local History was originally established at the Lebap Velayat Museum under the auspices of the Lebap Regional Department of Culture and was founded in 1969.
To replenish its fund, the museum collects museum valuables from the population. Acceptance of the collected or donated valuables to the museum treasury is determined by the purchasing group of the fund and is credited to the museum treasury. Proper accounting of accumulated valuables is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the current regulations.
