Raja Bhadur Khan, the father of Raja Hussain, built the museum in the mid-1980s when he felt the need to preserve the cultural heritage of the region. The artefacts were donated by the people of the valley and some came from his own family collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Gulmit museum is located in Gulmit valley upper Hunza Gojal about 138 km towards north from Gilgit. The museum was early a Wakhi house that has now been converted into a museum.
