The valley was ruled by the Beebal Khans (tribal rulers) until 1949 when they signed the Instrument of Accession with Pakistan. In 1971, Allai merged into Pakistan as an administrative part of the Battagram subdivision. In 1993, Battagram was upgraded to the status of a district, and Allai become one of its subdivisions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This district has world fame for its beautiful mountains, thick forests, fertile lands, and enchanting streams. Most of the population is rural and depends upon agriculture for their day-to-day living. As a recent phenomenon, fishing has also become a mode of earning due to some modern scientific techniques.
