Tian Chi Lake is around a 3-4 hour drive from Urumqi. There are regular local bus services or you can hire a driver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What to Expect<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
Tian Chi is located on the north side of Bogda Shan (\u2018Mountain of God\u2019), an imposing peak that rises in a striking manner over the lake\u2019s vibrant blue water. The lake is surrounded by lush forests and is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, including towering spruce and pine trees, colourful wildflowers, and various species of birds and small mammals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hiking trails lead visitors to scenic viewpoints and secluded spots, while boating in larger cruise vessels offers a chance to get out on the water. Horseback riding and camping are also available, as well as more technical mountaineering for experienced trekkers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
