The Allai valley is bounded by Kohistan on the north and east, by the Kaghan valley, Nandhiarh and Deshi of Deshiwals on the south, and by the Indus River on the west. The valley of Allai is divided from Kohistan on the north by a range of mountains rising to over 15,000 feet.

Getting There

The Mesmerizing Valley of Allai is located in Battagram District. It is about 80 km from Mansehra and 219 km from Islamabad via Hazara Motorway

By Train: If you want to go to Allai Valley by train from any part of the country, there is no train available to go to Allai Valley So you can get off at Rawalpindi Railway station or Peshawar station and go Allai Valley by car, bus and Jeep

By Road: Through a car, bus and Jeep you can reach Allai Valley from Islamabad in Four and a half hours. The distance of Allai Valley (Battagram) from Islamabad is 219 km.

History

The valley was ruled by the Beebal Khans (tribal rulers) until 1949 when they signed the Instrument of Accession with Pakistan. In 1971, Allai merged into Pakistan as an administrative part of the Battagram subdivision. In 1993, Battagram was upgraded to the status of a district, and Allai become one of its subdivisions.

This district has world fame for its beautiful mountains, thick forests, fertile lands, and enchanting streams. Most of the population is rural and depends upon agriculture for their day-to-day living. As a recent phenomenon, fishing has also become a mode of earning due to some modern scientific techniques. Another distinctive feature of this district is the notable presence of the Shahra-e-Resham or Silk route and hence which is helping the infant industrial base to thrive.
