Visit Guide to Gori Stalin Museum

The ones interested in the history of SSSR should definitely visit Stalin Museum in Gori. Joseph Stalin was born and raised in Gori, Georgia. The museum was founded in 1957. It preserves more than 40000 exponents, and perfectly represents the history of the key figure of the 20th century.

Getting There

It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes to drive from Tbilisi to Stalin Museum.

What to Expect

The museum consists of 3 main parts:

The house where Stalin lived: the replica of his wooden house represents the family traditions and their everyday life.

Museum: The museum preserves the personal belongings of Joseph Stalin, including his writings, documents, photographs, deathmask and etc.

Personal Train: The personal railway carriage, which has preserved the characteristic interior with personal belongings, meeting table, bathtub, etc. Joseph Stalin used this carriage

The museum is dedicated to the life of Joseph Stalin, the leader of the Soviet Union, who was born in Gori. The Museum retains its Soviet-era characteristics.
