By Road: Lowari Pass is located at a distance of about 130 km from Dir. You can easily travel from Islamabad Motorway to Swat Motorway. By car, you can reach Lowari Pass from Islamabad in 7 hours. The distance from Islamabad to Lori pass is 339 km.
By Train: If you want to go to Lowari Pass by train from any part of the country, there is no train available to go to Lowri Pass. So you can get off at Nowshehra Railway station or Peshawar station and go Lowari Pass by car, bus and Jeep

Lowari Pass is a relatively low pass, Lowari Pass is a high mountain pass at an elevation of 3,118m (10,230ft) above sea level, the road over the pass, called N45, is one of the famous hair pinned roads in the world. It’s said to be the Grand Daddy of the passes. This is the most pleasant and beautiful valley in Dir.
The view of this place is breathtaking. Ideal place for photography and nature lovers. The best tourist attraction valley, every year thousands of tourists visit here. Kumrat weather is cool and pleasant. There is greenery everywhere. The Mountain top is covered with snow.
History
The Lowari Pass is one of the four major mountain passes to enter Chitral. The others are the Dorah Pass from Badakshan in Afghanistan, Shandur Top from Gilgit, and Broghol from the Wakhan Corridor in Afghanistan.
The Lowari Tunnel was constructed beneath Lowari Pass by Sambu, a South Korean company in 2009. Lowari Pass is also known as Lowari Pass . It is constructed at an elevation of 3,118 meters. Even with this height, it is considered as a low mountain pass in Chitral, perhaps, the lowest one in the region. The average elevation of mountain passes to enter the region of Chitral is between 3,600 meters to 4,600 meters.
Lowari Pass connects the region of Chitral with Dir in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This mountain pass in Pakistan also features two tunnels that were completed and made operational in 2019. They are known as Lowari Tunnels. One of them is a pretty long tunnel with a length of around 8.5 kilometers while the other one stretches only 1.9 kilometers. Together, Lowari Tunnels cover around 10.4 kilometers of the mountain pass.
The construction of the tunnels at Lowari Pass has greatly contributed in terms of enhancing land connectivity in the region. Thanks, in part, to these newly constructed structures that the road connecting Chitral with other parts of the country will remain operational, especially in snowy seasons. Due to their extreme significance, Lowari Tunnels are counted among the most popular tunnels in Pakistan.
