Getting There

The Picturesque Valley of Naran is located in Mansehra District. It is about 104 km from Mansehra and 208 km from Islamabad via Hazara Motorway

By Train: If you want to go to Naran Valley by train from any part of the country, there is no train available to go to Naran Valley So you can get off at Rawalpindi Railway station or Peshawar station and go Naran Valley by car, bus and Jeep

By Road: Through a car, bus and Jeep you can reach Naran Valley from Islamabad in Four and a half hours. The distance of Naran Valley from Islamabad is 208 km.

Naran is one of the most famous towns in the country because of its scenic views. Thousands of people including photographers, tourists, trekkers, nature-lovers visit this place of Pakistan annually. The main items of Naran valley are dry fruits and Handicrafts.

One of the handicrafts you should buy are the artistically carved Walnuts and another famous thing is the Namdas, the woolen felt rugs while woolen shawls, embroidered shawls, and shirts are also available

History

The Naran-Kaghan Valley of KPK is renowned for its history dating back to the British Colonial period. From the Stone Age to the current era, the region had inhabited several casts like Swati, Awan, Kashmiri, Durai, Mughal, and Quraish.

The region is rich in terms of historical buildings and monuments. There are Buddhist temples and stupas, monuments of the Islamic period, Hindu and Sikh temples, Buddhist monasteries, and buildings of the Colonial period. Moreover, there are several folklores, archaeological graves, and different legendary buildings that are famous for their historical background.

This town is rich in most of the facilities tourists may require. The accommodation, general commodities, communication, transportation, and medical facilities are available in Naran. The most of economic and business activities of locals rotate around tourism.

People are engaged with transportation, hoteling, and food business in the summer season. The natives of this valley are Gujjars who keep herds of domestic animals for their living.
