Akbari Mosque was built on the orders of Akbar the Great by his governor Abdur Rahim Khankhana in about 1588. This is thus among the oldest mosques in Pakistan. And famous by his architectural style, the mosque has three domes.

The ancient mosque with huge pillars and beautiful greenery around makes it eye catching. In front of the mosque there is a courtyard entered through a small gateways from three directions.

This is mosque is also called As Jamia Masjidand its known as Akbari masjid because it was made in the time of King Akbar.
