Saiful Muluk National Park is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Pakistan. It is located in the Kaghan Valley in Mansehra District of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, in northern Pakistan. Apart from the gorgeous lake, the park also has a wide variety of flora to offer including trees, shrubs, perennials, and herbs.

Getting There

Saiful Muluk National Park is located near Naran. It is about 9 km from Naran and 290 km from Islamabad via Hazara Motorway.

By Train: If you want to go to Saiful Muluk National Park by train from any part of the country, there is no train available to go to Saiful Muluk National Park So you can get off at Rawalpindi Railway station or Peshawar station and go Saiful Muluk National Park by car, bus and Jeep

By Road: Through a car, bus and Jeep you can reach Saiful Muluk National Park from Islamabad in Seven and a half hours. The distance of Saiful Muluk National Park from Islamabad is 290 km.

What to Expect

Lake Saiful Muluk is a mountainous lake situated on the northern side of Kaghan valley. Present near Naran town in the Saiful Muluk national park. This lake is originated from the Kunhar River. The height of the lake from sea level is 3,224 meters and known to be one of the famous and highest lakes located in Pakistan. It is situated 9 km towards the north of Naran in the Mansehra district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The lake is accessible beside the nearby city of Naran all through the summer season but access for the duration of winter is limited. The lake along with its beautiful and enchanting natural beauty, pleasant environment, and associated history, attracts a lot of tourists each year.

History

Saiful Muluk National Park is situated in the Kaghan Valley within the Mansehra District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The park was officially declared in 2003 and is centered upon the alpine Saiful Muluk Lake. The flora includes the trees, shrubs, perennials, and herbs of the Himalayan Western Himalayan subalpine conifer forests and higher elevation Western Himalayan alpine shrub and meadows ecoregions.

Some of the park’s fauna include the snow leopard, Asiatic black bear, marmot, weasel, Eurasian lynx, Indian leopard, Himalayan snowcock, and the snow partridge. The park’s lakes and wetlands habitats are of significant ecological importance for resident fauna and migratory waterfowl
