Getting There
Baku Bay is located at the same location as Baku Maritime Park Boulevard. You can reach it by bus or taxi, or just use the underground from the city to the boulevard area.
If you want to go there by car, you can park it inside Park Boulevard Mall, Deniz Mall, or other open-air parking areas on boulevard territory.
If you want to use a bus, buses № 5, 10, 18, 88 and 125 go to the stop “Puppet Theatre”. You can reach Baku Bay using a metro, too – there is “Sahil” metro station right in front of the boulevard area.
What to Expect
Baku Bay is a natural harbor of the Baku port and local yacht club on the southern shore of the Absheron Peninsula and on the western shore of the Caspian Sea. It has an area of 50 km² and a coastline of 20 km.
The bay is bordered by Sultan Cape in the east, Shikh Cape on the south-west and the islands of Qum, Dash Zira and Boyuk Zira in the south and south-east. These islands are part of the Baku Archipelago which lies mostly within the bay. These characteristics make it an ideal place for a harbor. During severe storms with high winds, the height of the waves in the bay can reach 1–5 m.
There lies Baku Boulevard on the seashore. Here, visitors can explore the unique Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum, enjoy the concert at International Mugham Center of Azerbaijan or enjoy the family time, while riding on bicycle, scooter or amusement attractions. For art enthusiast, YARAT Contemporary Art Centre will be an excellent choice, considering the variety of art exhibitions.
If they want to enjoy the incredible view of the Baku city, they should definitely take a ride at the Baku Eye. For even better view, they can take a ride on the Baku Funicular, which will bring them to the Highland Park, with the breathtaking view of the Baku city.
