Visit Guide to Baku Juma Mosque

Originally built in the 12th century, Juma Mosque has undergone several reconstructions with the current building erected in 1899, financed by the Baku oil millionaire Haji Sheikhali Agha Dadashov. The mosque features a lavish interior with columns and exquisite tilework and is located on the Old City’s main trading street on the site of an ancient Zoroastrian fire temple.

Getting There

The mosque is conveniently located in the heart of the Old City, so you can easily reach the Old City by a car, a taxi or a bus and visit the mosque as you walk down the narrow streets of the medieval fortress.

What to Expect

The mosque is currently operating and one can find people praying there, but you can enter and roam it without any restrictions.
