Originally built in 1960, this miniature imitation of Venice’s canals and gondolas is a peaceful escape on the Baku Boulevard where you can drift along water channels on wooden boats, visit restaurants located on small islands serving local and international cuisine, and enjoy great views of the city.

Getting There

If you want to go there by car, you can park it inside Park Boulevard Mall, Deniz Mall, or other open-air parking areas on your way.

If you want to use a bus, buses № 5, 18, 88 and 125 go to the stop “Azneft Square”. You need only to cross the road on the boulevard side.

You can reach boulevard using a metro, too – there is an underground in front of the “Sahil” metro station. It will take you 5 minutes to walk t the “Little Venice” from there.

What to Expect

“Little Venice” in Baku Boulevard is a small town built in 1960. It was expanded up to 10.000 sq.m. in 2012. The town has two large and several small islands, which are connected by decorative stone bridges, and gondolas can be seen travelling in the channels full of still and clean water.

History

The redevelopment of the “Small Venetian town” saw the expansion of the existing channels and the construction of additional bridges and two restaurants. The restaurants located in the ‘islands’ offer various meals of different cuisine, including Azerbaijani tasty dishes. These islands are connected by beautiful ornate bridges. You can hire a 4seater gondola for a ride around these islands. The feeling of drifting in a gondola, next to the Caspian Sea, is very relaxing.
