It takes about 8 hours to drive to Mestia drom Tbilisi. (Local driver is recommended.)
You can fly from Natakhtari to Mestia as well. (Natakhtari is 1 hour drive from Tbilisi, capital.)

History
Mestia is located in the Svaneti region, 128 kilometers northeast of the regional capital of Zugdidi. Its population is 1,973 people, according to the 2014 Georgia census. It was granted the status of a townlet (Georgian: daba) in 1968.
Due to its isolated location, the whole culture of Svaneti was developing remotely. The region has been preserving ancient traditions, artifacts, and breathtaking untouched nature through the centuries.
