Yarat Contemporary Art Space

Visit Guide to Yarat Contemporary Art Space

YARAT is the city’s leading creative hub for contemporary art. Yarat means ‘creation’ in Azerbaijani and creativity is exactly what the space oozes, regularly hosting world-class exhibitions as well as workshops and talks featuring talented local artists and filmmakers who YARAT promotes across the region.

Getting There

Thanks to its comfortable location on the Baku Boulevard right next to the National Flag Square, it is possible to get there by public transportation or a car. Alternatively, you can enjoy a short walk to YARAT along the Caspian Sea.

What to Expect

YARAT is a contemporary art platform that works to develop and promote contemporary art inside Azerbaijan, as well as to promote Azerbaijani art outside the country. YARAT’s main venue is the YARAT Contemporary Art Centre on the Baku Boulevard near Flag Square, which is a luxurious exhibition space that opened in 2015 in a converted warehouse formerly used for ship maintenance. The site hosts a variety of exhibitions, demonstrations, performances and educational events throughout the year.
